2011 Tournaments

Pinball Tournaments

Two tournaments on two banks of machines: old school games and the new hotness.  Play to qualify in one or both divisions.  The top 16 finishers advance to head-to-head final matches that determine the winners.

Kids and casual players can try to qualify for bonus tournaments only for them, while still eligible for the main events!

16 players make the finals in each of the main tournaments; 8 in Casual; and 4 in Kids'.  In the casual players' tournament, the top 6 qualify and we select two players at random to make 8 finalists.  Watch for the Wild Card drawing on Sunday right before finals.

Last year, we gave away over $6,000 in prize money.  Actual prizes are based on entries.

Video High-Score Competition

The first-ever Classic Arcade Gaming (dot com) Contest to be held in California will take place at this year's California Extreme show.  Located in Santa Clara, the one day contest will take place the afternoon and evening of Saturday, July 9th, and features a guaranteed purse of $140 in cash awards, on four classic arcade game titles.  There will be the potential for more cash awards, if the number of entrants is large enough.  The contest hours will be 2 to 8 PM, but (of course) the CE show will open earlier, and close later, than those times.

Panic Park Tournament

A special Panic Park contest is also in the works.  This will be a crazy event with some twists beyond the usual wackyness of Panic Park.  There are some rounds that just call for extra interaction with the player, and your hosts Dan Amrich and Brad Martinson mean to apply it! You'll have to wait to get the details, but there will be Easter Egg prizes in addition to the cash and of course a cheezy crown for the overall champ chosen from the two bracket winners.  The plan is to run two 16 player single elimination brackets with a $3 entry, all cash awarded to the top 3 places in each of the two brackets.  And other wacky stuff.  You'll love it, but will need to sign a waiver!  Planned times for the two brackets are 8 PM Saturday and 4 PM Sunday.  Signup will be before the tournaments.
